“The Magaddino Affair: Bullets & Brushstrokes”
The Magaddino family are the strongest, wealthiest, and most influential in Paradise City and their boss, (a respected businessman, obviously) Stephano “Eight Bullets” Magaddino, is already said to be rubbing shoulders with the top brass. Now they are opening their biggest project in the city yet – The Magaddino Building for Arts and Culture. It is a huge investment and will ensure their place at the top tables. They already have the Chief of Police Ryan O’Healy in their pocket, and this event will surely allow them to gain influence with the mayor, "Hizzhonor" Joseph Horatio Gunther III.
Who knows, at this rate, maybe Stephano himself could be the next Mayor of Paradise City? What an unsettling thought!
Today is the opening day – it is sure to attract a lot of attention.
It will also be a great distraction for getting some proper ‘business’ done.
(just a few pics from our little gangster bash at the weekend using the excellent "Mad Dogs with Guns" rules by Howard Whitehouse and Roderick Robertson - various gangs slugged it out over a mix of objectives that ultimately resulted in crashed cars, beat cops shot down with tommy guns, wise guys blown away in the street, a mob accountant caught in a compromising position, an assassin dressed as a nun, a huge stash of gold bars stolen and Mr Magaddino dead in the middle of his own new building with a bullet to the back of the head! The mayor himself somehow survived two grenade attacks but the Chief of Police and several councilmen were not so fortunate...)
This was my contribution to our own 'Not SELWG' day due to this having been cancelled. About a dozen of us gathered in a small former school hall in East Bergholt with four games running - a big Chain of Command game, a Sharp Practice and a What a Cowboy jape! Maybe we will do it again?
